In class, we began researching what the best program is to our best interest. This is because many either do not like Photoshop for example and prefer using other platforms. Down below, I looked further into three programs, which are Photoshop, Canva, and Illustrator.

Photoshop

I found this example in a website named PHLEARN. When clicked into the website, there is a video at the top of the page that demonstrates the steps to this cover.

I found this in a website from the Commtechcorner. When I searched for examples, it was one of the most viewed ones.

What I mainly like about both of these covers is the fact that they are very specific on small details. For example, the top picture displaying a woman posing for a picture is very clear and colorful. The picture is very attractive because all the colors match together. Moreover, the picture of the man is less colorful, though still very classy in some way. They match the theme of old pictures to suits and ties, how advertisers used to do back in the older days.

Canva

This magazine cover that I found was published by Canva themselves I. an article which stated "Free beautiful magazines you can customize".

Another magazine cover I found was also made by Canva in a very similar article. Also, it was one of the best and non-blurry ones in the Google search.

What attracted me most about these magazines is the fact that they have their own customizable magazines. When searching for ideas to a magazine, they provide examples of some, like these above which can be changed for free. Canva also has examples for almost every genre, and above is one for Business and one for Lifestyle.

Illustrator

The magazine cover shown was found through Google search in a website named Designhill. It was one of the first images that popped up.

I found this picture through looking at Youtube preview images. The video was named "Illustrator Essentials by Future PLC".

These images are very nice but are not my favorite. Adobe Illustrator is not a bad alternative but it does not fit me. What I do like about these magazine covers is that both of them are very colorful and extremely visually pleasing to the eye.

Pros and Cons

There are various pros and cons to each program. To begin with, the pros to Photoshop is that it is one of the most known and available programs, and also it is usually easy to use after learning. Photoshop is currently a great option to use. Editors use Photoshop to crop pictures, change the way they seem, fix lighting issues, and give any topic the greatest possible appearance. I am very familiar with Photoshop, which is why it makes it such a reliable chance.

On the other hand, Canva is for better use if looking for something quick and simple with built-in assets. Photoshop is arguably the superior option to edit out flaws, produce works of art, or produce professional-quality photographs. In this case, Canva can be better and should be examined closer. This is because the elements are way simpler and not as complex.

Both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop are similar, but they have been created to serve different purposes. The most significant difference is that Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics software while Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics software. As such, the file formats used for each tool are also different.

To summarize what stated above, all of these programs have their positives along with their flaws. Although, it is evident that I will use Adobe Photoshop to create my best magazine cover. This is because as I stated before, the point of Adobe Photoshop is to create better works of art and produce professional-quality photographs. I want my cover to seem the best with the least amount of flaws possible. I have found a lot of tutorials to help me if I am having a hard time.
