In class, we began learning how to construct a double page spread. Articles that span across two pages are much more eye-catching to viewers, which means that they are more likely to grab their attention and make them do a more in-depth analysis of it. Down below are three examples of mine that I thoroughly researched.

Number of images: 5 images

Number of total pages for article: 4 pages

Description of each image: A large shack made of wood. Then, the interior of that house is very old style, made of w0od too. On the top right of the page there's another part of the shack, which shows a small part of the stairs and the entry to the house. The bottom picture shows a woman and her dog on the porch of the house. The large picture shows kind of a balcony or an outside part of the house.

Headline: High Country Style

Section Title: High Country Style

Pull Quotes: -

Stylistic Features: The titles are all in caps and are vey wide for the viewer to see.

Number of Columns Per Page: 3 columns

Housestyle: This magazines housestyle is that they consistently talks about very coastal and country parts of the cities. For example, the TOC has a whole section for Texas and even a Southern-style of living. On the TOC, the main picture is a beach-side house.

Content: This magazine article talks about Rachel Halvorson's house, which is the pictures displayed. She lives in a small town in North Carolina where she knew she could create her own authentic house. She likes this design because she said that she wants parts of it to be "darker and woody" than super bright like other houses.

Number of images: 11 images

Number of total pages for article: 5 pages

Description of each image: The top left on the TOC shows a preview of one of the houses and the headline named "Island Modern". The bottom right is another preview of the headline "Ratio Party" which is a part of a garden. The top right is a light that looks like a plant. The biggest picture is very modern with a lot of lighting. The bottom right is taken at a high angle of the ocean with some beach-like feeling. The larger picture on the next page shows her open bar as stated In the caption with vaulted ceilings. The bottom left shows the lobby that is a very large hallway. Then, the other picture shows the deck, located along the coastline. The next bigger picture on the next page is a picture of a bedroom with a nice fountain view, The one to the right of that one is showing a Pond Pavilion bath, which is used for the views and for more privacy. Below it in the bottom right, the picture shows the living room with a beautiful view to the nature,

Stylistic Features: All of the pictures are very bright and light. There is a small (FD Travels) on every top left of the page, which looks like a trademark.

Number of Columns Per Page: 7 columns

Housestyle: The housestyle here is very modern and follows a specific flow. The southern-like house is very modern, with wooden figures repeatedly shown and a lot of marble and matte-black.

Content: This magazines article talks about a designers house. The whole section shows kind of like a tour around her whole house, with every picture having a small caption describing exactly where it is, what it is, and the location of it. It is located in an island, as shown in the section title, which is home to a lot of other very modern beautiful homes.

Number of images: 5 images

Number of total pages for article: 2 pages

Description of each image: A modern market event taking place in Big Mountain Ranch, the top left shows a small, white local ranch, the top right displays a food truck named Annie's, bottom left shows a bar that serves craft beer and other drinks, and bottom right is a picture of people paying through a ATM.

Article Font Format: Serif

Stylistic Features: All of the smaller titles are highlighted with purple, there is a large yellow circle in the middle showing the pull quote, which leads to all of the smaller titles.

Number of Columns Per Page: 12 columns

Housestyle: This housestyle is very southern-ranch style. The repetitiveness of the southern style is seen throughout the whole magazine. The TOC mentions various places that can be related to it too. Although, there is a section that talks about mid-century modern in London.

Content: The magazine article talks about a specific market located in Big Mountain Ranch in North Carolina. The two page spread is mostly based off the pictures with a small description for each. All of these pictures are smaller parts of what makes up the market.
